Purple Urchin, Strongylocentrus purpuratus

Purple Urchin, Strongylocentrus purpuratus. Collected from a tidal pool in the greater Los Cabos area, Baja California Sur, January 2020. Diameter: 10 cm (3.9 inches). The Purple Urchin is the most common Sea Urchin in the coastal waters of the greater Los Cabos area of Baja California Sur.

Family: The Purple Urchin is a member of the Strongylocentrotidae Family of Sea Urchins.
